Undergraduate Program Objectives
Unified Objectives for the College of IS&T:
- Students receiving a bachelor's degree from the College of
IS&T are employed in a job that makes use of their education,
and they compare facorably with students receiving degrees from
four-year programs producing graduates who complete for jobs
with College of IS&T graduates.
- The College of IS&T will recruit, retain, and graduate
students from diverse populations.
- Students receiving a bacherlo's degree from the College of
IS&T participate in life-long learning.
- Faculty in the College of IS&T contribute to the advancement
of their disciplines through scholarly activity.
- Faculty in the College of IS&T regularly update their
professional knowledge and skills, and continually develop and
enhance programs to meets the needs of our students and
community.
- Students, faculty, and staff in the College of IS&T
participate in community and professional outreach.
- Resources available to the College of IS&T are appropriate
to the programs offered and are used in an efficient and
effective manner.
BCS Program Specific Educational Objectives:
Graduates of the BCS program will
- acquire knowledge of computer science in core areas and
paradigms;
- gain analytical and experimental problem-solving skills in the
computer science discipliine;
- identify solutions to computational problems and implement them
using the knowledge acquired;
- develop the communication skills required for the computer
science profession;
- accumulate experience in collaborative efforts of problem
solving; and
- engage in continuing professional development and services.
